USA radio program “Jazz in the Afternoon” broadcasts music by Giovanni Ceccarelli

On Wednesday, September the 24th at 11 p.m. (Paris, France time) radio program “Jazz In The Afternoon” on KBOO-FM 90.7 in from Portland, OR, USA will broadcast some music by Giovanni Ceccarelli. The program is conducted by Bob Riddle.

Fond memories of Portland’s Jazz Quarry (1976-1987), and its regular pianist “The Professor” Eddie Wied (1925 -2007) will be kindled by special guests Patricia Caringella, Mark Simon, and Larry Nobori. They, and their music – and stories! – will link those days to the present, including a new landmark building to be built over the Jazz Quarry’s former location.

Larry is the initial link between Eddie and Italian jazz pianist Giovanni Ceccarelli, whose music we’ll hear as well. Giovanni is currently one of Europe’s leading musicians, and responsible for Eddie’s Italian CDs and tours.

Later in the show, we’ll stay goodbye to long-time Portland early Sunday morning jazz host Bob Steffen, who passed away recently.

“Jazz Current Events’ in the last half-hour will feature guests drummer Alan Jones, and vocalist Shira, who’ll musically discuss their latest projects.
