Giovanni Ceccarelli Trio

Giovanni Ceccarelli – piano, clavietta
Mauro Gargano – double bass
Patrick Goraguer – drums

The Giovanni Ceccarelli Trio stars musicians who are very active on the international scene. The pianist’s compositions are very lyrical, moreover the arrangements put in evidence the three artists’ expressive qualities. Ceccarelli, Gargano and Goraguer deeply listen to each other, creating an interplay throughout their process of making music.

Ceccarelli’s jazz is mature and incisive; this record… is among the most intense and convincing works that we’ve happened to listen to in recent times.
Marco Crisostomi, magazine Audio Review, Italy, 2012

In 2011 Giovanni Ceccarelli releases the album Météores, a work mostly dedicated to his own music, which is produced by French label Bonsaï Music. Guitarist and singer Fausto Mesolella, and vocalist David Linx are featured as guest artists in the album, also contributing as lyricists.

Météores is also published with a special edition in Japan by Production Dessinée.

Météores meets the public’s and critics’ success and it is awarded with the Sélection FIP and Sélection écouters in France and the Sélection HMCH in Switzerland.

Giovanni Ceccarelli and his trio perform in France, Italy and Lebanon: Italian Cultural Institute, Semaine Italienne festival and Sunside Jazz Club in Paris, Musicpool festival in Italy, Jazz Talks festival in Beirut among others. The group appears at national radios France Inter and France Music. In addition to the music from Météores, the trio proposes Cinéma en Jazz, a tribute to film music composers, and The Composer’s Art, a collection of music by prominent composers.
