Giovanni Ceccarelli is featured in Ferruccio Spinetti’s new album “Arie”

 

Giovanni’s dear friend and longtime artistic partner Ferruccio Spinetti releases today his first album as a leader, entitled Arie.

It is a tribute to Italian jazz, featuring own renditions of music by Enrico Rava, Luca Flores, Enrico Pieranunzi, Paolo Fresu and other great artists.

The album stars young vocalist Elena Romano, who also wrote most of the lyrics, and outstanding drummer Jeff Ballard. Rita Marcotulli is guest artist on two tracks, duetting on the piano and rhodes with Giovanni.

Giovanni co-wrote with Ferruccio and Elena the song Passato Futuro. The quartet also recorded Giovanni’s composition Météores.

Arie is released by label Jando Music. Starting from November the group will be touring Italy presenting the album on stage.
